Abstract:
This brochure presents the research projects of the 13th generation REAP students of HafenCity University, Hamburg, in collaboration with Polytechnic University of Tirana, Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism (FAU) focused on urban development in Tirana, Albania. The research project proposes a sustainable approach, focusing on water, waste management, energy, and mobility. The project includes a unique hybrid system utilizing microgrids running on solar energy, blue-green infrastructure to optimize the Tirana river, and community involvement in decision making. Additionally, the proposal suggests reusing construction demolition waste (CDW) and revitalizing informal neighborhoods while addressing potential risks and challenges. The study emphasizes the importance of education, awareness-raising, and cooperation between stakeholders to achieve common goals and monitor and evaluate project achievements.
